Student Progress Reports: How to Enable the Viewing of Multiple Terms in Edline

December 22, 2009

When a teacher uploads reports to Edline, it saves the data to a folder called Student Report.  Easy Grade Pro will only upload information from the current term by default.  As a new term begins, the upload reports feature will overwrite the data in Edline from the previous term.  In order to allow multiple terms to be viewed in Edline, you will need to rename the folder Easy Grade Pro uploads to.  I would recommend adding the Term number at the end of the name.  For example, Student Report – Term 0 (where 0 is the term that you are uploading data from).

To rename the Edline folder, please do the following:

  1. Open Easy Grade Pro and select File, Internet/Edline.
  2. Within the Options tab, click on the box next to the Edline Report/Folder name (see below).
  3. Type in new name.

How to Adjust Calendar Dates in Edline

December 11, 2009
  1. Login into Edline and select button to the right of the Calendar section to Edit Calendar items.
  2. Click on the Manage Items button.
  3. Select dropdown list from View and select all.
  4. Select Items you would like to move forward by clicking on the box next to the item.
  5. In the Rollover Selected Items section at the bottom of the screen, select the options for moving the dates.  For example, to move dates forward 1 day, select Roll Selected Dates Forward 1 Day.
  6. Press Rollover Now to complete the process.

Please keep in mind that if you select all dates and tell it to roll forward 1 day, it will move Friday items into Saturday. To accommodate for the weekend, Edline recommends doing the following:

  • Select all Monday through Thursday items and roll items forward 1 day.
  • Select all Friday items and roll items forward 3 days.

The problem with this method is that once you rollover the Monday-Thursday items, you cannot tell what Friday items still need to be rolled over since it includes the recently rolled over Thursday items.

I would recommend selecting all items (Mon-Fri) and rollover 1 day.  I would then select all Saturday items and roll them forward 2 days.

Open Easy Grade Pro Faster

November 12, 2009

John Chomos has placed a shortcut under Staff Resources (folder located by Start Menu) called Easy Grade Pro Web.

To open gradebook, double-click on icon and login using your Edline username and password.  Click Sign In to view gradebook.

This will eliminate several steps including opening Internet Explorer, going to Edline, and navigating the Command Center menu to locate the gradebook.

The shortcut can also be copied to your desktop by dragging the icon from Staff Resources.
